Rethinking compliance in 2021: implications for the public sector

COVID-19 has forever altered the landscape for public sector organisations when it comes to compliance with travel and expenditure policies. Government organisations face a significant regulatory burden when tracking and managing spend. While the nature of organisational spending may have changed during the pandemic; the fact remains that business-related spending must still occur. Add to this the lack of physical oversight as workforces became geographically dispersed, and it becomes clear that the need for compliance and oversight remains, but the way in which it is achieved must evolve.

SAP Concur invited senior finance leaders from key Australian public sector organisations to discuss the changing meaning of compliance and implications for the public sector in 2021 and beyond. This whitepaper aggregates and explores their opinions.
